ADF Legal Embargo Renewal System
Deadline and renewal management system for embargoes at ADF law firm.
ADF is a law firm handling embargo renewals for many clients and they lacked visibility on which deadlines were urgent versus far away. Some renewals expired and others were handled at the last minute. I designed and built an internal platform with a centralized embargo dashboard, debtor records, assignment per lawyer, and a deadline timeline with priority levels. The system sends automated email alerts with escalating urgency based on due date proximity, lets each lawyer process renewals from their own queue, and keeps a complete audit trail of renewal actions.
Problem
The firm had too many embargo deadlines spread across clients and no centralized control. As a result, some renewals expired and many were processed too close to the due date.
Solution
I delivered a system to register embargoes and debtors, track deadlines, and send automated email alerts with escalating urgency depending on how close each renewal date is. The platform also assigns embargoes to lawyers so each one can renew and track only their own cases.
Results
The legal team moved from scattered reminders to a centralized workflow. They can now prioritize urgent renewals earlier, reduce missed deadlines, and maintain auditable renewal records per debtor and case.
Learnings
For legal deadline operations, escalation alerts, clear ownership by lawyer, and renewal traceability are essential to avoid risk at scale.
